Latin American Economic Journalists Program (Regional)
Through this two-phased program,twelve journalists from four Latin American countries (Argentina, Chile, Mexico and Venezuela) met with a cross-section of U.S. financial analysts, investors, economists and government officials. The three-week program took place in Texas, New York, and Washington, D.C. The second phase served as a follow-up opportunity for the participants to address various international financial issues. Seven of the 12 journalists participated in a series of roundtables and panel discussions. The journalists formed a professional association "Asociacion de Periodistas en Economia y Finanzas de las Americas" (APEFA).
Program of Non-University, Technical Higher Education Reform (Argentina)
皇冠搏彩中心 recruited three consultants for IDB to work with the Ministry of Culture and Education in Argentina to advise on the model of administration and the design of a system of accreditation and evaluation for community colleges in Argentina. The consultants included a staff person from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, a president of a U.S. community college, and a faculty member from Anglia Polytechnic University, a member of the British Universities Transatlantic Exchange Association (BUTEX).
Proyecta 100,000 (Mexico)
The Texas Intensive English Program provided intensive English courses for Mexican university students and teachers as part of Proyecta 100,000 program, the Mexican counterpart to the U.S. 100,000 Strong program.
Uruguay Fulbright Teacher Exchange (Uruguay)
皇冠搏彩中心 arranged the placement of Uruguayan elementary and secondary teachers into Austin Independent School District schools to develop language teaching skills in bilingual (Spanish-English) classroom settings and, for teachers also involved with Uruguay's Plan Ceibal (program, to gain knowledge of and experience teaching with technology. These teachers participated in observation of teaching Spanish and/or in Spanish in classroom settings, cross-cultural travel inside Texas, and home stays with host teacher counterparts during the two-week program.
Brazil Binational Centers Faculty Development Program for Teachers of English as a Foreign Language (Brazil)
This program provided mid-career teachers of English as a foreign language from Binational Centers across Brazil with a two-week, customized faculty development program featuring lectures on teaching methodology and the American educational system, a weekend home stay, and visits to K-12 schools, other ESL programs, and sites of cultural interest in the Austin area
